One of the best books we read in the mastermind is titled, The Obstacle is the Way.

We’re living that out now. The title says it all, the challenge we face moving physical schools to the digital space is also an opportunity.

Another great book you should check out on seeing this challenge as an opportunity is A Beautiful Constraint.

Think of it this way — coronavirus is a coin. Unlike a random coin toss, you have the power to choose what side the coin lands on.

Heads = fear; Tails = opportunity.

Heads = school as we’ve always done it, but online; Tails = a different and better way forward.

One of my mentors, Seth Godin wrote about this recently.

Seth presents tons of great ideas including his checklist for online meetings, but this was by far his best point:

“A conversation involves listening and talking. A conversation involves a perception of openness and access and humanity on both sides.

People hate meetings but they don’t hate conversations.

People might dislike education, but everyone likes learning …

Conversations reset the power and compliance dynamic, because conversations enable us to be heard.”

-Seth Godin

So there you have it.

You have the opportunity to reinvent education and make it better. It’s your choice. What will you do?

The advantage of online learning is that it presents an opportunity to make education better. The disadvantage is that things remain the same.

If you are open to making things better this post is about 10 Ideas for Conversations and this post is about 5 fun ways to start a meeting.

I’m curating all online learning posts here.
